- Beenie Man and Vybz Kartel have been having a bit of an up and down link during the years, according to Beenie their beef began after Kartel had become successful and allegedly distant toward him.
- Beenie Man, born Anthony Moses Davis, said he began mentoring Kartel after the 2003 Sting incident, when Kartel and his entourage fought Ninjaman on stage during a lyrical clash.
- After the incident at Sting Kartel was shunned in Jamaica, so Beenie took Kartel under his wing, and the two released several songs together, one of the most popular is “Baby Father” featuring also Jamaican recording artist D’Angel.
- Beside the collaborations also several diss songs aimed at each other were released during the years and some healthy competition about being the King Of Dancehall went in the mix.
