This time was probably very emotional, since Kartel had a chance to also also met his grandson, Likkle Vybz’s son, for the first time and he also revealed that he has another grandchild on the way.
- Jamaican prisons hold a “family day” three times a year, where, in contrast to regular visits, inmates can see their whole families, including children, which are allowed into correctional institutions just on that day, as established by the Department of Correctional Services (DCS).
- Family Day is a different set up from regular visits, where 15 minutes or so is allowed. On family day activities allow for children to come see their parents and for bonding. It’s like more of a fair, in that they come and have background music and we do popcorn and hot dogs for the children while they get to see their parents.

- Vybz Kartel was diagnosed with Grave disease and two heart conditions, his physical form is not improving also for the unsanitary settings of the Jamaican prison facilities and that’s why the final appeal is getting an expedited appeal at the UK Privy Council on February 14th.
