A new song with Jamaican dancehall superstars Tommy Lee and Vybz Kartel is adding more fuel to the current ALLEGED controversy regarding Popcaan’s friction with the Gaza Camp.

The new song making the rounds is titled – “Betray The Gaza Boss” and contains lyrics that speak of betrayal, as the title says. The song is hot hot hot and also a hot topic in the dancehall music community.

Tommy Lee deejays in the beginning  and and he states that he wants somebody to desist from calling his name to get respect.

“Don’t sey yu love mi, man mi nuh love stop call mi name just fi get a forward,”.

Vybz Kartel starts his part of the song singing he’s the Champion. 

And he’s, given what he’s experiencing, missing from a year and still being the most played, loved, missed Dancehall Champion!

The song implies that some of his followers used his name to make money, but have no ratings (respect) for him.

Beside who is for, the song is nice. The question everybody is asking again is…Was Kartel up to the time again?  Up to the minute? Up to the second?  

Was the song recorded time ago and addressed previous rust with past former Gaza members that left Kartel’s Portmore Empire, like Rhyno..?

Not too long ago another collaboration between Tommy Lee and Kartel titled “Informer” sparkled the same controversy and Popcaan had to release a statement saying the song wasn’t aiming at him.

So don’t get fooled.

The song was premiered on Friday by ZJ Chrome and has since been uploaded on youtube and went quickly viral.

Since its upload, the unofficial version of the song already got thousands of views in few days. It was just over a week ago that Tommy Lee appeared on TVJ show Entertainment Report to dismiss allegations that Vybz Kartel had kicked him out from the Gaza, citing him and Popcaan as opportunists. According to Kartel’s alleged statement, said to be issued by Gaza Slim, within a week of his arrest, some of his followers switched management arrangements.

Part of Kartel’s statement :

“I just want you to let the people know that all a dem runnin aroun sayin Gaza, Gaza” are not real.

Before I came here, we were ‘good.”

No animosity, but within a week of my arrest, they started giving other people managerial and booking positions.

But where were these people when I was building their careers?

When I was investing time and money to transform them from nobody to somebody? They are opportunists and fake.”

Kartel’s statement went further :

-“I’m not surprised because this is dancehall and I have no problem with them making their money.

But I just don’t want them to be all over the place exploiting a movement that I built with blood, sweat and tears when they and I know they aren’t real. I want them to stop.

The only two loyal people are Slim and Sheba (the girls) and maybe it’s because they haven’t fully realized their potential.”

There were also rumors about a possible upcoming collaboration in the mix between Mavado, Popcaan and Tommy Lee with Snoop Lion too.

When contacted Mavado‘s Camp I didn’t hear back from Julian Jones Griffith, Mavado’s manager, on the matter.
