- Recording artist Tommy Lee Sparta, real name Leroy Russell, took part to the popular Jamaican TV show Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall ,season finale, and he had just left the show when the arrest took place.
- Sparta was taken by masked police, part of the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Unit, which released a request to the police about taking the artist in custody, for questioning in relation to organized crime in Sparta’s native Montego Bay.
