- Unruly Popcaan is not just a recording dancehall artist anymore, but also an actor, since he got a role in the new movie “The Intent 2: The Come Up”, which is the sequel of the popular British flick “The Intent” that will premiere next month.
- Dancehall star Popcaan, that debuted his second studio album “Forever” produced by Mixpak Records, landed a major role in the new movie, playing a thug named Sour Sop, who runs the streets of Kingston, role that Popcaan, real name Andre Jay Sutherland, plays along with famous Jamaican actor Louie ‘Ox’ Rankin.
- “The Intent 2: The Come Up” has been shot earlier this year by directors Femi Oyeniran and Nicky Slimting Walker, that landed in Jamaica to shoot a major part of the movie. In the trailer, you can see Popcaan at a party with one of the film’s stars at Hellshire Beach in Portmore.
- Talking in a recent interview about the project Walker said that Popcaan is a talented actor who has a promising future in the film industry because he is a natural and after seeing him in action it’s hard to think this is the Jamaican artist first experience in a movie.
