  • World Boss Vybz Kartel, the world favorite Jamaican King, and of course Jamaica’s finest, opened up via e-mail in his first interview since the incarceration experience.
    • While all of his fans know him via his music, videos and his book ‘The Voice Of The Jamaican Ghetto’, since he has been behind bars, Kartel has spoken mainly via his songs and lately, increasingly, via social medias.
    • Few days ago Boomshot, a Vice digital dancehall branch, shared a interview to Adidja Palmer that came with a new recent photo of the Gaza General behind bars, that portrays the artist sporting the usual good looks. Kartel also let his fans know he is ok and there is no COVID in his facility.
    • With the heavy title of King Of The Dancehall on his head since before the incarceration it was just natural to ask World Boss what it takes to be and stay on top of Dancehall for so long, to which Kartel’s answer is:  “the secret is hard work”. Kartel is also asked to list his favorite books read recently.
    • During the interview Kartel expresses his view on different topics and subjects from the p(l)andemic as he calls it, to the recent RIAA Gold plaque he won last month for his single ‘Fever’ that is now sitting inside his cell, with some space left for the the Grammy he hopes to achieve with his latest studio album ‘Of Dons & Divas’, to George Floyd , passing from his comments on his own court case and his appeal being denied.
  • Vybz Kartel “Cute Rider” (Reggaeton Mix) (Official Video)
    • For all the Gaza Nations fans one of the most interesting part of the interview is probably when Kartel  get asked about former members of his Portmore Empire, Popcaan and Tommy Lee Sparta.
    • The Teacha once again teaches, explaining that nobody is perfect, he is a forgivable person and he is proud of their victories, to have put them on, like Bounty Killer put him on.
    • In one of his latest song, with Teejay, “Top Up Gaza”, Kartel deejays ‘Killa ah me daddy’, showing a lot of respect for the war lord.
    • Concluding Kartel said, “I appreciate most that he helped me realize my potential without prejudice. I didn’t grow up with him, we weren’t schoolmates. So I love and honor this man to the fullest. Falling out with the big boss was necessary still… that’s how America was built.”
    • Kartel goes on talking about Sikka Rhymes and the mutual affiliation with 6iix crew .
    • Vybz Kartel then talks about his admiration for Buju Banton, confessing that Ninja Man and Buju Banton are his two main musical influencers.
    • When asked about Buju’s album being released the same day of his own album “Of Dons & Diva” Kartel wrote “Like i said he’s my deejay so for me it’s great. I want him to sell 10 mil on the first day. Me? 10.1 mil—LOL.”
