- The alleged murder trial of Dancehall DJ Vybz Kartel resumed this morning the in Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston, Jamaica.
- Justice Lennox Campbell is presiding. P Nicola Brown Baxter testified that fire was set to rooms at the house where Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams was believed killed on August 16, 2011 in Havendale, St Andrew.
- A policewoman, Special Constable Kay Ann Murph is to continue her testimony today when Vybz Kartel murder trial resumes. The policewoman was among three serving members of the police force and one retired to testify at Vybz Kartel’s trial, last week.
- On Friday, the Special Constable told the court that on the morning of September 30, 2011 she was among a police party who went to a hotel in New Kingston. She said they entered a room and saw accused Andre St John and Shane Williams and she got two phones from them. However, at the end the police woman failed to point out Andre St John in the dock.
- Last week, a forensic investigator told the court that he found what appeared to be bloodstains at the Havendale, St Andrew home of Vybz Kartel, where it is alleged that Williams was beaten then killed. Also last week, Senior Superintendent Cornwall ‘Bigga’ Ford, denied suggestions that the presence of the media at Kartel’s premises was part of a conspiracy to ensure a conviction for the entertainer.
- Retired Assistant Commissioner of Police Granville Gause also testified before the 12-member jury hearing the case. Meanwhile, two civilian witnesses have so far given evidence – the girlfriend of Clive Williams and his sister. In tears, the sister said she had feared for her brother’s life and testified that days before he went missing, she asked him to leave the community of Waterford in Portmore, St Catherine.
