- Another artist that took Kartel ‘s fate personal is Dave McIntosh, the son of reggae great Peter Tosh showed empathy with Di Teacha’s situation.
- Speaking at his father’s birthday symposium on Wednesday, at the Undercroft, UWI, he used his father’s lyrics — “You cyann blame di youths,” to explain his feelings for Kartel.
- Dave Tosh also told the audience that he was contemplating doing some remakes of his father’s work, including You Cyaan Blame Di Youths, which he announced, would feature Vybz Kartel.
- He’s planning to remaster songs like Legalize and You Cyaan Blame Di Youth with what he defines “The Top Artist in Jamaica right now” speaking of Vybz Kartel.
- The young Tosh also talked to the crowd about the business of reggae.
- “Reggae music makes trillions of dollars annually globally. Is enough money fi have everybody in Jamaica living above the poverty line. Yet still, Jamaica don’t own no part of reggae music. I think these things need to query. … I don’t see where Jamaica a benefit from reggae music….”
