- Once again this edition of Reggae Sumfest 2023, staged at Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre in Montego Bay, St James delivered with a bang a string of great live shows, good vibes, and a great experience for all, with most of the show being on time, the artists attending, performing and delivering to their best for the crowd of international and local patrons. A great night with great live music!

- The night kicked off with the Boombox family segment, which featured 90s artistes like Mega Banton, Jigsy King, Nitty Kutchie, Harry Toddler, Silver Cat, Round Head, Tony Curtis, General B and others, stirring the audience with strong performances, taking them down memory lane, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. Backed by the Reggae Warrior Love Band, they paid tribute to Boom Dandimite, who passed away recently and during their set the play a recording of Bounty Killer himself paying tribute to Boom Dandimite.
- Closing acts like Tommy Lee Sparta, Masicka, Teejay, Valiant, Gaza Slim, Moyann, Chronic Law, Moyann, Jah Vinci, were surely among the standouts from festival night one. Patrons who attended from Jamaica, USA, UK, and various European countries were not disappointed, showing their gratitude cheering, tooting horns and singing along with the artists throughout the night into early Saturday morning.
- Patrons were gifted with a special treat from the Japanese sound system Mighty Crown. that after 32 years in the sound system business decided to retire from the scene and gave their farewell from Reggae Sumfest stage.
- This year edition was particularly dear to many because, after three years of incarceration finally Tommy Lee Sparta has been freed and was finally kicking it on Sumfest stage, for his own joy and the joy of his fans.
- A lot of emotional moments during Sparta show. Sparta’s live performance has been saluted and hailed as one of the best of the night, if not the best, and Sparta, surrounded on stage by his whole entourage, delivered an emotional show and talked directly to his fans about his incarceration, Vybz Kartel, his music, freedom and even addiction. - They only bit of a dramatic moment went on during the live gig of recording artist Bayka that was arrested by the police backstage for cursing

- Hot new dancehall artist Valiant also delivered a great show. The raising Jamaican dancehall star hypnotized the crowd with his elegant looks and perfectly crafted show, like a seasoned veteran even if this was his first Reggae Sumfest. He came out as a master class performer. As a young artist he must have waited for his moment all his life, he really took the time to please his fans and put it all in delivering one of the best performance of the night.
