Unruly Popcaan dropped his newest album called ‘The Yiy Change Fixtape’.

Popcaan’s new studio album features 19 tracks and includes stellar collaborations with Drake, French Montana, Quada, Jada Kingdom, Tommy Lee Sparta, OVO’s artist PARTYNEXTDOOR and more.

Poppi put a lot of his international connections in the project, which is his fourth studio project, it’s called ‘The YIY Fixtape’ but as the Jamaican artist wrote in his IG ‘is not a mixtape’.

JAmaican recording dancehall reggae artist Popcaan, real name Andre Sutherland, released his first studio album back in 2014, titled ‘Where We Come From’, and after hundred of successful singles and remixes, in 2018 he dropped his second studio album tiled ‘Forever’, produced by Mixpak Record, followed by ‘Vanquish Mixtape‘ in 2019.

Popcaan’s “The Fixtape” has been distribuited by Drake’s OVO and produced by Creep Chromatic and Travis Chromatic and pays a tribute to their previous project together, ‘The Yiy Change’ Mixtape that was Popcaan first mixtape and goes back to 2012, when his career started taking off outside of his homeland Jamaica.

His awaited new project has been welcomed with much love from all his fans worldwide, making Popcaan The Fixtape an international success, since shortly after coming out it took over iTunes multiple charts, including iTunes Top Reggae Album Chart, dethroning Bob Marley that has been topping that chart forever.

This is the first time that Popcaan tops the Itunes reggae charts and in just few hours after dropping the project he also took the second position with his “Twist & Turn’ featuring Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR taking currently the first and second spot also in Top Reggae Songs chart with “All I Need” featuring Drake.

While all of his Unruly fans kept congratulating with the former Gaza artist, and also many artists expressing their love and respect for his achievements, apparently Alkaline did not like The Fixtape success.

Jamaican recording artist Alkaline is not so appreciative and in a back and forth with a Popcaan’s fan on IG he dubbed the project the ‘Fishtape’, following their beef that has been lasting several years since The Microwave diss track and the recent back and forth with Drake dissing Mavado’s “Enemy Line’ song aimed against him from the Gully God.

Drake went on IG Live while the preview of The Fixtape was airing to take jabs at Mavado mentioning the yard man line, telling him to sit this one out, taking a sit and grabbing some juice.

Popcaan’s The Fixtape has a bit of everything for everybody, from previous released songs like “Buzz”, “Mamakita’ “Jelousy Die Slow”, “Friends Like This” and never heard before songs.

The project was initially announced as featuring more than thirty tracks but the final cut include little more than half that number.

Popcaan, in an Instagram post said the team “put in a lot of work on this tape I hope you will enjoy it as much how we enjoy making it for you.”

He shared an official trailer for the project, which captures some scenes during the production of the Unruly and Chromatic Live project which is being distributed by OVO Sound.
