- Tarrus Riley, born Omar Riley in the Bronx, New York, is a promising reggae singer and songwriter.

- On December 18th, 2012, our Son/Brother and Friend, Elijah “Kishi” Ellington (also affectionately known as Sage) and a friend were walking in the Lauderdale Lakes area in Broward County, when they were approached by two black males with obvious ill intentions of robbery, they noticed he was wearing a gold Lion of Judah pendant/chain, a family heirloom passed on to him from his father and a high end designer sunglasses.
- In a very disrespectful and unexpected tone they shouted “what the f___k you looking at.” Elijah turned around towards the two suspects with his two hands in an upward position and responded “I am having a blessed day, peace and blessings, just chill.” He turned away and continued walking.
- The two suspects then followed behind Elijah and his friend taunting and shouting derogatorily. While walking backwards, Elijah turned around a second time, facing the two suspects again repeated with his hands up “I am having a blessed day, just chill, I don’t want to fight.”
- While one of the suspects reached into his waste, he shouted “I don’t want to fight, I want to shoot.”………… As a result, Elijah was forced to defend himself.
- Elijah has possessed a licensed firearm that carries a concealed weapon permit for over 10 years without incident and has kept a clean record. Elijah has been wrongfully incarcerated while exercising his constitutional right to defend his life and the life of his friend.
- This tragic and unfortunate incident has created an overwhelming emotional and financial burden on our family. We are aware that these are difficult times financially and otherwise.
- On Elijah’s behalf we are reaching out to our community, family and friends for financial contributions to assist with his legal defense which will cost $40,000.00 – $75,000.00 plus expenses.
