Jamaican gothic dancehall artist Tommy Lee Sparta, real name Leroy Russell, comes from Flanker, a parish in Montego Bay. He was the latest addition to Vybz Kartel’s Gaza Portmore Empire musical label.
Since incarceration, Tommy Lee Sparta has been declaring his loyalty to Gaza and is mentor Kartel, with whom he recorded a bunch of dancehall hit singles like Daddy Devil and Betray The Gaza Boss.
Following Kartel’s incarceration and the end of Portmore Empire, that Kartel’s disbanded from jail due his inability to manage and follow his artists from behind bars, Sparta developed his own musical path and unique style that has been called gothic dancehall.
