- Latest news: Vybz Kartel’s business associate Michael Dawson, has dismissed claims that Adidja Palmer was stabbed during a prison brawl at the Horizon Remand Centre on Tuesday and that he is soliciting funds to pay his lawyers.
- Usual hoax and fake reports surfaced that the artist was engaged in a fight on Tuesday night with another inmate when he was stabbed. But in a press release issued Thursday, Dawson said that there was no truth to the reports.
- “It has come to our attention that there are several rumours being circulated about Adidja Palmer, better known as Vybz Kartel, regarding a stabbing incident at the Horizon Adult Remand Centre.
- These rumours are false,” he said. “No such incident has been reported.
- No records of a fight in which he was involved, has been reported,” an officer at the Remand Centre confirmed Thursday.

- Kartel’s business partner Michael Dawson also said that unscrupulous individuals have been using Vybz Kartel’s name in an attempt to scam money from the public.
- He said that scammers have been contacting other artists and fans claiming that Kartel needed contributions for his lawyers’ fees, something not true and that already Vybz Kartel‘s wife, in a statement sent here to missgaza site from Adidjaheim Records last year,says clearly the Kartel doesn’t need a found raising.

- It was reported earlier this week that scammers were contacting people via Blackberry Messenger claiming to be Vybz Kartel and asking for money.
- Vybz Kartel, who has been behind bars since September 2011, returns to court on May 27. He is expected to begin trial on two murder charges.
