Vybz Kartel’s Music Featured on AMC’s Hit Show The Preacher

Fans of incarcerated Jamaican dancehall super star Vybz Kartel cheered up when they tuned in to the supernatural action series ‘Preacher’ airing on AMC’s.

The soundtrack for one of the latest AMC’s hit series show features Jamaican World Boss Vybz Kartel, ina song that has been a collaboration with India’s Mangi Mahal, “Balle! Shava!” The track dates back to 2009 and come out with the official music video back then.

The hit show Preacher is now running its second season. The series was developed for AMC by Sam Catlin, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen and stars Dominic Cooper. With the first season ranking in an average of 3 million viewers per episode,  this is a big shot for incarcerated dancehall King Vybz Kartel, that via the popular TV show could reach many millions of new and old watchers of the show that probably never heard his music before.

Vybz Kartel ,real name Adidja Palmer, has been incarcerated since the end of September 2011 and was later on sentenced to 35 years without parole for the murder of Clive Lizard Williams with 4 co-accused. He will appeal the harsh sentence and fight for his freedom when the trial restarts in February 2018.

Beside his incarceration Vybz Kartel’s music has been unstoppable going mainstream this year even more than ever with international artists, DJs and producers mixing remixing sampling his work and paying for his featuring. He was recently also featured in Busta Rhymes Tory Lanez Girlfriend music video that sent the fans crazy over the visuals of Vybz Kartel deejaying from his cell. Watch the video here.

Currently once again taking over the airwaves with a hot string of dancehall anthems Kartel is starting getting also the attention and recognition he deserves and worked so hard for all these years, not just in his native Jamaica, where he is larger than life, but also all over the world.
